Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) provides students in Grades 7 to 9 the opportunity to explore their interests and solve real-world problems within various occupational areas and technologies.
Career & Technology Foundations (CTF) offers students the opportunity to explore programs that connect with their personal interests. Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) courses have common characteristics:
• Courses are challenge based and provide students with opportunities to implement solutions for relevant real-life problems.
• The emphasis is a “hands on” aspect and project based learning.
• There is no prerequisite for CTF courses, nor is any prior experience in that area necessary for success. Choose what interests you!
• CTF students will develop social, interpersonal, life, and work skills as well as practical knowledge about various industries, issues and technologies.
• Students will explore the interconnectedness of skills, knowledge and technologies associated with various occupational areas as they learn about career possibilities.
• CTF provides a foundation for students transitioning into Career and Technology Studies (CTS) in Grades 10 through 12.
As CTF is challenge based, course offerings and the specifics within them may vary from year to year.
